Bowl beard situation getting hairy

Well, the Herd had a bye but Andrew Ramspacher’s facial hair certainly didn’t. The Parthenon sports editor’s vow not to shave until Marshall football officially gains bowl eligibility is still  going — and growing.

“Pardon the pun, but it was a hairy week,” Ramspacher said. “I’m not used to utilizing a back scratcher  for my face. This stuff is itchy!”

Also speculation developed this week over when will be the official time to use a razor again. Six wins grants bowls to start offering bids to Conference USA teams but seven wins guarantees them postseason play.

“Let’s grow to seven,” Ramspacher said bluntly. “I want to make this official.”

Mario Harvey isn’t fearing the beard. He’s giving his best effort to get it to go away.

“Aww man, I thought you were trying to get the Brett Favre-look or something,” Thumper told Ramspacher after Wednesday’s practice. “But, hey, we’re going to try to get that cleaned up for you.”
