Monday, June 7 at 12:17 a.m.
MUPD received a call from a help phone on the second floor of the parking garage from a complainant who said he was chased by one of three suspects from the 7-11 lot on the 1900 block of Fifth Avenue to the northeast ramp of the Cam Henderson Center. 

The suspects were driving a black two-door vehicle. The complainant also said he was tripped by the suspect. The case is open and active.

Tuesday, June 1 at 1:15 p.m.
A complainant reported her bike had been stolen while it was locked on a bike rack behind Twin Towers East. The complainant said she put the bike on there on May 28 and noticed it was gone June 1. There are no suspects.

Monday, May 31 at 12:30 p.m.
A complainant reported that a male wearing a red shirt was making a banging sound of metal on metal at a bike rack outside one of the Marshall Commons dorms. The male was identified as Michael L. Garrett, 45. An officer noted that a bar on the bike rack was bent and broken. 

The officer asked Garrett what had happened. According
to the offi cer, Garrett "began to talk in circles and not make any sense."

Garrett was arrested for destruction of property and
transported to the Western Regional Jail and lodged.

Friday, May 28 at about 1:38 p.m.
MUPD received a call saying that a person had stolen four textbooks from the Marshall University Bookstore and sold them to Stadium Bookstore. Video evidence shows the person in Stadium Bookstore at the time of the incident. The case is open and active.

A warrant is on file with the Cabell County magistrate's office for the arrest of Tashima Smith, 32, for transfer of and receiving stolen property.

Friday, May 28 at about 9:30 p.m.
Veronica Ruiz, 21, turned herself in to the MUPD office on a criminal warrant for domestic battery. Ruiz was transported to the Cabell County magistrate where she was given a court date and released on a $5,000 bond.

Thursday, May 27 at about 9:49 a.m.
An MUPD offi cer met with a complainant who stated someone had stolen a 42-inch plasma screen television from the visitors' locker room in the Cam Henderson Center. A staff member noticed the television was missing May 22. The case is active with no suspect at this time.

Sunday, May 23 at 2:19 a.m.
An MUPD offi cer found two males stealing a heat and air unit from the warehouse building in the 2200 block of 5 1/2 alley. The officer said the suspects took off running, one west down 5 1/2 alley and the other north to Fifth Avenue. The officer chased one suspect down the alley and arrested him. The arrested suspect was identifi ed as Paul Allen Workman, 40. Workman was taken to Western Regional Jail and warrants were signed on him.
