President Stephen J. Kopp may be released from Cabell Huntington Hospital as early as today, a spokesperson for Marshall University said.
Kopp, 58, who underwent a diagnostic procedure Monday requiring surgery, is recovering well and is anticipated to be home Wednesday or Thursday, said Bill Bissett, chief of staff and senior vice president for communications.
Kopp is expected to be back in the office Monday, Bissett said.
"He looks good," Bissett said. "He has good color and is feeling fine."
Bissett is overseeing business at Marshall while Kopp is out, but he is keeping in close contact with the president, Bissett said.
Well-wishers can send cards and flowers to the President's Office at 216 Old Main, One John Marshall Drive, Huntington, WV 25755.
