Alumni Association sponsors office decorations
The Marshall University Alumni Association is sponsoring an office decorations contest for Homecoming week.
Employees of each university office were asked to decorate their office space in this year's Homecoming theme of R-O-C-K Conference USA.
Prizes of banners and trophies will be awarded to the most creative office, the office that best fits the Homecoming theme, the most attractive, and to an overall grand prize winner.
Offices participating in the contest include: the College of Liberal Arts, Purchasing, the Welcome Center, the Student Government Association Office and the Office of Management and Marketing.
The decorations will remain up all week and judging will be Thursday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
Anyone interested may stop by the offices to see the decorations.

Biology Club to sell T-shirts for fundraiser
The Biology Club will be selling T-shirts in the Science Department to raise money.
"We just want to raise money for our club so that we can go on are annual trip in the spring semester," Jessica Young, president of the Biology Club and sophomore biology major, said.
"I think that it is a good idea to do fundraisers," Andrea Maynard, a freshman radiology tech, said.
The T-shirt sale will begin Monday, Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The last day to purchase a T-shirt will be Friday, Oct. 21.
"We are going to have the table set up on the second floor of the Science Building next to the science office," Young said.
The members of the Biology Club just completed voting on what the T-shirts are going to look like. The colors of the T-shirts will be blue and a light gray, Young said.
"We want to have a DNA strand on the back and it will have sections into different genes that biologists at Marshall would have. The front of the T-shirt will just say Biological Science Department at Marshall University," Young said.
The Biology Club will have to order the T-shirts so students will not get them the day they purchase the shirts.
"We will have a piece of paper that will have the design on it from the company. This will show students what the T-shirts will actually look like," Young said.
Students can pick from short sleeve shirts or long sleeve shirts to buy.
